International Demographics is a privately-owned corporation based in Houston, Texas which collects listener data on radio audiences in the United States. It is a competitor to Arbitron but uses a different methodology in its data collection and tabulation.[1] International Demographics clients include radio stations, television broadcasters, cable television operators, online/internet service providers, print publications and advertisers.[2]
The company's primary product, The Media Audit, is and audience survey available for 80+ markets covering the media preferences and buying habits of the areas covered. In October 2006, Arbitron filed a patent infringement lawsuit against International Demographics citing concerns with the company's electronic audience measurement technology.[3]
